Xperinet MIRV.....

XperinetMIRV is the first video and audio server built for the Home Technology Integration industry to incorporate storage of VHS, DVD and CD content. MIRV allows you to store your movies and music for playback supporting up to 20 independent simultaneous zones. Built on a Linux/AMD platform, MIRV can store up to 1,600 movies and/or 17,000 CDS on a fault tolerant Raid 5 disk array.

MIRV architecture is uniquely designed to provide A/V outputs for each supported zone via a Taurus client. Taurus clients can either be set top or rack mount units depending upon specific configurations. The MIRV Server streams video and audio content over IP (Internetworking Protocol) to each Taurus zone for compiled playback. Playback for each zone is independent and each audio/video is setup to meet each zone's unique needs.

MIRV Features

All MIRV servers are capable of streaming content to a Taurus client to expand the simultaneous playback capability from the video and music library. Each MIRV system includes:

Video Upload
  • NTSC video capture of VHS tapes to library (option)
  • Upload of video content from DVD
  • Simultaneous upload while viewing
  • Extraction of DVD menu and ancillary content for user simplicity and use of storage capacity
  • Original video quality is preserved by storing video uncompressed
  • Coming: DVD Loader for Dealers who wish to provide bulk upload of DVDs
Library Features
  • Automated database information captured from the web including cover art
  • Search by title, genre, actor, MPAA rating, or year of production
  • Password protection of content by MPAA rating
Storage
  • RAID 5 array protects data in the event of drive failure
  • Storage capacities represent actual available storage, not aggregate disk space. For example, the 1.25 TB array has 6 x 250GB drives. One drive is used for RAID 5 parity calculations, leaving 5 drives x 250 GB = 1.25 TB of actual storage available for your movies. DON'T BE FOOLED by other systems that quote total drive size rather than net available storage.
Audio / Video Playback
  • VGA, DVI, Component Video, and S-Video connectors
  • Scales video playback to HD resolutions including 720p and a host of other 3x2 and 16x9 aspect ratios
  • Audio output options include a THX-certified Dolby Digital 7.1 decoding system; Stereo outputs w/ 107db s/n ratio; or S/PDIF co-axial digital output
  • Supports Dolby Digital and DTS on S/PDIF output
User Control
  • Control via RS-232, IP, or an On-Screen Display with included IR remote control
  • Bundled with wireless keyboard and mouse for ease of data entry and system control
  • Your favorite control panel device, i.e., Crestron, AMX, Vantage, etc.
